BILLY HEATH says he makes no apologies if his Alfreton Town side don’t serve up a lunchtime feast of football for the FA Cup purists on Saturday – just so long as they continue doing what they do best.

IT'S RED FOR DANGER AS BILLY EYES A SCALP

Stalwart Heath is one of the game’s most charismatic figures who bases his success around a more direct style and old-school football philosophies.

And it’s very difficult to argue with the 51-yearold given he has picked up no fewer than 18 trophies in 22 years in doing so as a manager, guiding the likes of Bridlington Town, North Ferriby, FC Halifax Town and now

Alfreton. With a philosophy which has served him well throughout his career, Heath has made Alfreton typically tough to break down – a system platformed by a solid back line, combative midfield, quick wingers and a big target man up front, such as 39-yearold striker Matt Rhead or 6ft 3in Jake Day.

Despite having one of the smallest budgets in the division, Heath’s side beat all the odds to finish fifth in National League North last season, only to beat edged out by promoted side Kidderminster Harriers in their PlayOff Eliminator.
